1. Overview
Our center evaluates the efficacy of wet wipes against various microorganisms in accordance with JIS and EN standards. Products that satisfy the applicable efficacy criteria under these standards may qualify for the Sanitizing Certification. Although the standards specify the use of designated test microorganisms, our center can modify the test organisms to include fungi or viruses according to the intended application. In addition, allergens may be used as test targets based on the client’s requests.
2. Applicable Products
・Wet wipes
・Disinfectants for use with wet wipes
3. Standards and Regulations
・JIS S 3303 – Performance Test for the Sanitizing Efficacy of Wet Wipes*
・EN 16615 – Chemical disinfectants and antiseptics – Quantitative test method for the evaluation of bactericidal and yeasticidal activity on non-porous surfaces with mechanical action employing wipes in the medical area (4-field test) – Test method and requirements (Phase 2, Step 2)
* Test reports generated in accordance with JIS S 3303 may be used to apply for the Sanitizing Certification administered by the Japan Hygiene Products Industry Association.
